My Philosophy

At Matriarca Midwifery, I believe pregnancy and birth are innately safe and joyful when left to proceed physiologically and without unnecessary intervention. I know your body is intuitive and powerful, and that you alone are in charge of your journey to and through parenthood. As a midwife my job is to walk beside you providing education, advocacy, and support. Childbearing is a sacred time that has been neglected by our society, and my mission is to bring healing and community back to the forefront. I meld ancestral knowledge rooted in Mexican Traditional Medicine with evidence-based information to provide highly individualized, hand-tailored care to you and your baby. Matriarca Midwifery is passionate about reproductive justice, bodily autonomy and true informed consent, improving maternal mortality and morbidity rates, and preserving Indigenous birthrites.
